Description
Eucalyptus Dives Essential Oil
Botanical name: Eucalyptus Dives
Eucalyptus Dives Essential Oil.
Eucalyptus dives, commonly known as the broad-leaved peppermint or blue peppermint,[2] is a species of tree that is endemic to south-eastern Australia. It has rough, finely fibrous bark on the trunk and larger branches, smooth bark above, lance-shaped or curved adult leaves, flower buds in groups of eleven or more, white flowers and cup-shaped, hemispherical or conical fruit. Eucalyptus Dives essential oil is steam-distilled from the leaves and twigs of the Eucalyptus dives tree (also known as broad-leafed peppermint, blue peppermint and menthol-scented gum). The tree is native to south-east Australia and Tasmania but is also grown commercially in South Africa. Eucalyptus Dives essential oil is clear to pale yellow in colour and has a fresh, camphoraceous aroma with lovely woody, peppermint undertones. Many people prefer this oil’s aroma as it is softer, more earthy and less penetrating than other varieties of Eucalyptus oil. It also contains less 1,8 cineole / Eucalyptol (1-2%) than the other oils, making it more suitable for topical application.
Eucalyptus oil is available as an essential oil that is used as a medicine to treat a variety of common diseases and conditions including nasal congestion, asthma, and as a tick repellant. Diluted eucalyptus oil may also be applied to the skin as a remedy for health problems such as arthritis and skin ulcers. The oil’s stimulating, uplifting, revitalising action is useful for relieving nervous exhaustion and mental fatigue. It can help to dispel apathy, increase clarity of thought and aid concentration. It can also be helpful for headaches and migraines. It helps reduce inflammation and congestion to promote easier breathing – which makes it useful for other respiratory issues such as allergies and asthma. The oil is soothing for aches and pains, including sprains, strains, cramps, period pain, arthritis, rheumatism, neuralgia and sciatica. It can also help to reduce fever, re-energise tired, overworked bodies and ward off other infectious illnesses such as chickenpox and measles
